Terrance Crowell Jr, known as Tee-C was born in Long Beach, CA. Then eventually moved to Evansville, IN. While in high school, Tee-C began recording music and started doing local shows. Once he graduated high school he knew he wanted to be a full time artist. While Tee-C attended college he released multiple projects and had independent labels interested, he also dabbled in acting as well, where he made an appearance on the 2013 TLC biopic “CRAZYSEXYCOOL.” When those deals fell through for the record deals, Tee-C decided to go behind the scenes as an independent label CEO to navigate his own destiny.
In 2020 Tee-C met artist Siobhan Linnane on IG and the two started working together. Soon afterwards Tee-C signed Siobhan to his Independent label “Groove Child Records”.

In 2022, while attending his artist Siobhan Linnane’s show he noticed something, there was nothing at the show to help any artist reach. There were no media outlets, no sponsors, or decent sized crowd to help build any artist reach, engagement, and buzz. The promotion and booking agencies were not doing their part to help the artists in Tee-C’s opinion. He felt it was only about the money for them. He knew it was a void that needed to be filled in the industry, not just the DFW area. He decide after that to start his own festival, which would be called “UPNEXT FESTIVAL”.
